DIAGNOSIS · 3 REASONS/ 03 ПУНКТИ

3 reasons your shop
doesn’t sell

·audit of 47 e-com sites · 2024–25
  1. 01
    CHECKOUT

5-step checkout — clients drop off

Register → verify email → delivery form → payment form → confirmation → pay. Half the clients close the tab by step 3. Checkout should be 2 steps max.

    68%
of clients abandon a standard 5-step checkout
  2. 02
    MOBILE

The site doesn’t open properly on mobile

Catalogue at 4 columns squashes into an unreadable grid on mobile. The buy button is buried in the card footer. Basket opens as a modal with horizontal scroll. 70% of e-com traffic is mobile. Mobile UX is survival.

    70%
of e-com traffic is mobile, but the design is desktop-first
  3. 03
    DELIVERY

Delivery integration is broken or broken-ish

Client picks a courier → enters their postcode → a long unsorted list of pickup points drops down → they Ctrl+F to find theirs. On Wix or WooCommerce that’s normal. On a custom site — search, filter, and the nearest branch suggested.

    42%
of orders fail at branch selection
We fix all three in 6-10 weeks.

Your shop should sell — not crash under traffic.

WE MAKE E-COMMERCE FOR YOUR SALES FORMAT

For a small brand, it is important to quickly launch a catalogue, payment, delivery and a convenient admin. For a shop with a large assortment - filters, product variants, balances, CRM and integrations.
We do not make the same template for everyone. The structure of the site depends on what you sell, how many products you have and how you process orders.

  • Books, jewelry, handmade, niche cosmetics
  • Simple catalogue, minimalist design
  • Mobile admin for phone updates

  • Fashion, electronics, kids, sports
  • Extended catalogue: filters, variants, sizes
  • Linnworks integration for stock sync

How it shows up on the site

Glimmer bookshop checkout with contact details, Nova Poshta delivery and order summary on one page

2-step basket (not 5)

  • Step 1: contact + delivery (Royal Mail / DPD / courier)
  • Step 2: payment (Stripe / GoCardless / Worldpay) or pay on delivery
  • Guest checkout (no forced registration)
  • Progress saved — client returns and finishes
Sanity CMS admin panel open on a phone and laptop for editing site content

Mobile-first admin

  • Add a new product from your phone in 3 min
  • Upload photos from your phone’s gallery
  • Update prices and stock on the fly
  • No tech support, no monthly fees
Glimmer book catalogue with genre tabs, availability filter and sorting by popularity

Smart catalogue with filters

  • Filters by category, price, tag, author
  • Quick search with suggestions
  • Auto "related products" recommendations
  • Full Schema.org Product markup

FAQ

Why not Shopify, since it’s "out of the box"?
Shopify is a £30-300/mo subscription, so £1,080-10,800 over 3 years. A custom shop costs £5,000-10,000 once. Over 3 years it works out roughly the same, but the code is yours. You also get full customisation: a 2-step basket, native courier integration and the payment methods your buyers expect, all weak on Shopify.
How does Linnworks sync work for inventory?
Two options: (1) manual CSV export-import once a day, (2) full auto-sync via the Linnworks API, with stock updating every 15 min. Option 2 is a separate integration at £1,200-2,500. If you have many SKUs that change often, go with option 2.
How much traffic can the site handle without crashing?
Next.js on Vercel auto-scaling = tens of thousands of concurrent users without extra cost. A traffic spike for a new collection / Black Friday — no problem. On Wix or WooCommerce a similar spike often takes the site down.
Can we add multilingual support?
Yes. English is standard in the Pro Plus tier, with additional languages on request. Each language has its own URL structure and hreflang. The product catalogue is localised via Sanity (each product gets title and description fields per language). Adding a further language is £1,500-2,500.
How to accept international payments?
Stripe is the standard. It supports all major currencies, Visa / Mastercard / Amex, Apple Pay and Google Pay. Whether you trade as a sole trader or a limited company, payouts land in your GBP business account, and you can take payment in the buyer’s currency where you need to.
